We Brought Home a Trophy. Jungle Cat Is Officially Award Winning
We’re still catching our breath after this weekend, but I had to share the news. Jungle Cat just took Runner Up for Best “Sweets & Dreams” (Hybrid) at the NW Leaf Bowl 2025.
That’s right. Canasmith is now officially an award winning farm, and we are feeling the love.
This was a blind flower contest judged by a panel of buyers, budtenders, and industry professionals. No names. No logos. No flashy marketing. And as the head of marketing and sales, let me tell you, my cute graphics were not invited to the party. I couldn't charm anyone with branding or design. It was just our flower. And it held its own.
We think Jungle Cat stood out because of the cure, the flavor, the color, and the relaxing effects that hit just right. It's smooth, sweet, gassy, and absolutely dreamy. People felt it. And they voted.
Even better, this happened at the first open consumption cannabis event in Washington state. The turnout was wild. The energy was buzzing. Farms from all over came through, including some of the biggest names in the game. To be recognized in that crowd was honestly surreal.
Our crew is small, but mighty. Every jar and pre-roll we send out is touched by someone who cares deeply. From the garden to the trim table to the packing station, we pour everything we have into this work. This win belongs to all of us. The folks out there trimming until their backs hurt, rolling joints with intention, fixing whatever broke that day, and doing it all with heart. You made this happen.
We want people to know the small farms are still here. Still showing up. Still setting the bar. We are the ones holding onto the culture of this plant and doing our best to grow something that actually matters. This win gives us the confidence to keep pushing.
About the strain
Jungle Cat is a cross of Golden Poppy x Greasy Runtz, bred by Exotic Genetix. For me, this strain carries deep meaning. My brother Jeff was a legacy grower and a big fan of Mike at Exotic. He passed away just before we started this pheno hunt. After chatting with our operations team, they decided to check out Exotic to see if we could find something that would be a great fit for us. In a way honoring Jeff’s legacy. What we found was Jungle Cat.
Its terpene profile includes Myrcene, Pinene, and Caryophyllene. The flavor is rich and smooth, with a sweet, gassy finish. It’s the kind of smoke that takes the edge off while still keeping your head in the clouds.
Jungle Cat is available now at licensed retail stores across Washington. Ask for it by name. Look for the Canasmith label. She’s the one with the trophy now.
To everyone who stopped by our booth, showed love, shared stories, and rooted for this little farm — thank you. We felt the support. We’re carrying it with us.
Let’s keep growing.
With love,
Michelle and the Canasmith crew
