For the Stoney Mamas: A Real Mother’s Day Letter

This isn’t a sales pitch.
This is a thank you.

To the moms who lit up before it was legal.
Before there were dispensaries.
Before anyone called it wellness.

To the women who smoked to manage chronic pain, anxiety, postpartum depression, and everyday burnout.
To the ones who used cannabis to keep going.
To keep feeling.
To keep showing up.
Even when they were told it made them irresponsible or unfit.

This is for you.

Cannabis moms have always existed.
You just weren’t allowed to be visible.

You didn’t get cute hashtags or wine mom mugs in pastel colors.
You got stigma.
You got silence.
You got side-eyes and whispered judgment.
And still, you rolled a joint, put the baby to bed, and got up the next morning to do it all over again.

You trusted the plant before the world caught up.
You understood that it wasn’t about checking out.
It was about tuning in.
Soothing pain.
Softening the edges.
Making it through another day with your sanity intact.

You didn’t need permission.
You needed peace.

For generations, women have been growing cannabis, healing with it, learning from it, and teaching others.
They have been medicine makers, caregivers, and quiet revolutionaries.
Even when their work was pushed underground.
Even when they risked everything.
Even when they were raising children in a world that refused to understand.

Cannabis has always been a women’s plant.
It’s a mothering plant.
It helps things grow.
It brings calm.
It teaches us to listen.

This Mother’s Day, we are holding space for every woman who has carried cannabis and care in the same hands.
For the moms who passed down more than recipes and routines.
For the ones who shared their stash and their wisdom.
For the ones who parented through pain and found healing in the garden, the pipe, the ritual.

We see you.

You are not a stereotype.
You are not a trend.
You are a pillar.

Whether you are a mother, were raised by one, or love one, this is your day.

Thank you for staying soft when the world asked you to harden.
Thank you for choosing joy when it wasn’t handed to you.
Thank you for teaching us that rest is sacred and pleasure is power.

To the stoney mamas.
We love you.
We honor you.
We’re here because of you.

Happy Mother’s Day.

With love and smoke,
The Canasmith Team
